Tuesday would have marked the 63rd birthday of celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, who tragically took his own life just over a year ago.
To honour his memory, the late “Parts Unknown” star’s estranged wife, Ottavia Busia, shared a sweet throwback video on Instagram.
In the video, Bourdain is seen playing in a swimming pool with the couple’s daughter, Ariane, who is now 12.
Busia, an MMA fighter, added a trio of crying emojis along with the hashtag #BOURDAINDAY, which was created by her late husband’s friends and fellow chefs Eric Ripert and Jose Andres.
Last month, Ripert and Andres appeared in a brief Instagram video announcing their plans to brand June 25 as #BourdainDay in honour of their late friend, asking fans to “post & share your tributes & memories of Anthony using #BourdainDay & wish him Peace, Love and a very Happy Birthday on his journey.”
