Dixie Chicks Confirm Album On The Way, First New Music In 13 Years

Get ready for some new music from Dixie Chicks, with band members Natalie Maines, Emily Robison and Martie Maguire joined by producer Jack Antonoff to make an exciting announcement via Maines’ Instagram account.

Using Snapchat’s baby filter, the group — who appear as youngsters — combine their voices to says, “Dixie Chicks. Album. Coming.”

Baby-filtered Antonoff then pops in to add a deadpan, “someday.”

This is huge news for fans, given that the band’s last studio album was Taking the Long Way, which came out way back in 2006.

Rumours of a new Dixie Chicks album have been rife for a year now, following a few cryptic Instagram posts from Maines from June 24, 2018 — one featuring a near-empty glass of wine balanced on a keyboard in a recording studio, accompanied by a question mark for a caption, and another featuring a photo of three pairs of sneaker-clad female feet.
