Tenille Townes And Old Dominion To Perform At 2019 CCMA Awards

The 2019 CCMA Awards are heating up with Global TV and the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announcing two top acts slated for the upcoming award show.

Alberta country singer Tenille Townes and three-time ACM Award winners Old Dominion have been confirmed to perform at this year’s CCMA Awards, to be broadcast live on Global from Calgary’s Scotiabank Saddledome on Sept. 8.

One of country’s fastest rising stars, Townes has been garnering attention with her latest singles “White Horse” and “Somebody’s Daughter”, with the latter recently becoming her first #1 single on the Canadian country radio charts.

Old Dominion has likewise been making their mark on the country music scene, with the Nashville-based band’s chart-climbing new single “One Man Band” building on the success of their sophomore album Happy Endings

The CCMA Awards will take place during Country Music Week, which includes the CCMA Legends Show on Sept. 6 at Calgary’s Arts Commons Jack Singer Concert Hall. Performers include Alan Doyle, Jade Eagleson, Lindsay Ell, Tim Hicks, Andrew Hyatt, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Aaron Pritchett, The Reklaws, Tenille Townes, The Wilkinsons and Michelle Wright.

Also taking place during Country Music Week is the CCMA Songwriters’ Series, a four-night acoustic performance series that kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 5, with additional sessions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Hosted by James Barker, Aaron Goodvin and Tim Hicks, the CCMA Songwriters’ Series will feature the following performers: 

Sept. 5: Jason Blaine, Kristin Carter, Leah Daniels, Aaron Goodvin, Mallory Johnson, Jess Moskaluke, Meghan Patrick and Leaving Thomas

Sept. 6: Alee, James Barker, Lindsay Ell, Doug Folkins, Nice Horse, Livy Jeanne, Mackenzie Porter and The Reklaws

Sept. 7: Tenille Arts, Sons of Daughters, Jade Eagleson, Stacey Lee Guse, Tim Hicks, Emily Reid and Tenille Townes

Sept. 8: Kelly Archer, Jim Cuddy, Mitchell Tenpenny and Pam Tillis

In addition, CCMA Fan Village will be returning for a second year, giving fans access to exciting events throughout the week; more details will be announced in the coming months. 

Meanwhile, TD is presenting partner for both the 2019 and 2020 CCMA Awards, and this year will be breathing breathe new life to the CCMA Ultimate Fan Contest, in addition to presenting the Fan Concert.

Ahead of the ceremony, ET Canada will be producing a live 30-minute red carpet show, hosted by ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey and Jeff McArthur of Global’s “The Morning Show”.

The 2019 CCMA Awards will air Sunday, Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Global.
