Bette Midler used her headlining act at New York’s World Pride event to put Donald Trump in his place.
While performing her hit 1973 song “Friends” she took a moment to tease that she was surprised she was even invited after the president called her a “washed-up psycho”.
“Now I’m going to tell you a little secret,” Midler said to the crowd. “Just two weeks ago, I was a washed-up psycho. I recovered completely, and something I learned from my president’s lunatic attack,” she said as she transitioned into “Friends”.
The event was in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall.
Cyndi Lauper also took the stage for an EDM rendition of “True Colours” and “Time After Time” while donning a rainbow taffeta gown.
