When Amanda Billington purchased a ticket to watch Idris Elba at the Manchester preview of his new play, “Tree”, she had no idea she was going to have a seizure in the middle of the performance — or that when she regained consciousness, the first face she saw would belong to the “Luther” star.

Yet that’s precisely what happened to the 33-year-old theatregoer when she took in the performance of “Tree”, created by Elba and Kwame Kwei-Armah.

According to the Daily Mirror, Elba halted the performance to offer assistance, even escorting her to an ambulance when it arrived.

“I would love to thank him personally, but doubt I will cross paths with him,” said Billington, adding, “he’s very famous.”

According to the Mirror, Billington was taken to a Manchester hospital and released after being examined.
