Hot on the heels of Netflix’s debut of the new season of “Stranger Things”, series star Gaten Matarazzo and his band Work in Progress have dropped two new tunes for fans’ listening pleasure.

On Friday, the band released a pair of singles, “Dream Eater” and “Waste My Time”, featuring the 16-year-old actor’s lead vocals on one track, with sister Sabrina Matarazzo handling vocals on the other.

In a recent interview with Billboard, Matarazzo said the band came together “pretty much by accident,” and explained the decision to have a different vocalist on each track.

“We all know that we all have different styles and we embrace that,” he told Billboard. “There really isn’t anything in check other than the fact that we make sure we each relatively have the same amount of songs for the gig.”

As for the band’s musical inspiration, Matarazzo says it’s all over the map. “We all have different tastes and different inspirations but I personally love Pearl Jam and Green Day,” he divulged. “If there were any [bands] that I personally based my style on, it would be those two.”

Work in Progress recently announced plans for a tour; concert dates can be found on the band’s website.
