Matt Bomer Reveals His 14-Year-Old Son Came Out To Him As Straight

Matt Bomer and husband Simon Halls are parents of three children, and the “Doom Patrol” star discussed his kids during a recent appearance on “RuPaul”.

During their chat, host RuPaul Charles jokingly asked, “If your sons were to come out… as straight, God forbid — no, I’m joking people!”

Bomer, however, actually had some experience with that exact situation.

“Well they do though,” he replied. “Our oldest came out to us as straight. He’s 14. He said, ‘I love and respect that you guys are who you are. I’m straight, that’s how I identify.’ And it was a big, nice, sweet moment.”

“Well, give it time, Matt,” responded the host as he jokingly consoled him.

“Anything can happen,” Bomer added. “We would be there with open arms.”

Bomer came out as openly gay in 2012 while accepting an award, publicly acknowledging Halls and their children for the first time.

“I’d really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry,” he said onstage at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards. “Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment.”
