Dua Lipa is teasing her new album, saying that it is “coming soon.”
While talking to BBC on the red carpet of the Silver Clef Awards in London where she won best female, the “New Rules” singer said that she is “nervous” about her upcoming album.
“It’s been a long time coming so I’m super-happy,” she said. “I’m nervous. It feels like it’s happening all over again.”
Her last album was released in 2017 and she said that this time around she has a better idea of what she wants including the collaborations with Diplo, Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers that make it “[feel] like a dancercise class.”
“I’m very much more in touch with who I am,” Lipa, 23, said. “Now I have a very clear idea of what I’m doing and what I want to say. Things I’m not afraid of.”
“With the music, it’s also about ensuring they have a safe space, a place where they can come and listen to the music and hang out. That’s what’s really important to me,” she added.
The “nostalgic” album will come soon but she couldn’t say when although did hint that she might have the “song of the summer.” Teasing, “I don’t know if it’s something coming from me or someone else…”
