Don Cherry will make his return to “Hockey Night In Canada”.

The Canadian legend notified fans, confirming “Coach’s Corner” bosses promised him his chair a week after the 2019 NHL playoffs.

Rumours circulated this month as Toronto Sun columnist Steve Simmons claimed Cherry’s return next season hadn’t been confirmed.

Fans began to question whether Cherry was fired after his comments about the Carolina Hurricanes. He called the team “a bunch of jerks” in response to the players doing their “Storm Surge” celebrations on the ice. The Hurricanes later embraced Cherry’s comments by selling “Bunch of Jerks” T-shirts.

Cherry, 85, joined “Hockey Night In Canada” in 1980. He has been paired with sidekick Ron MacLean since 1987.
