Sarah Paulson To Cut Back On ‘American Horror Story: 1984’ To Focus On ‘Ratched’

Sarah Paulson will be cutting back on her part in “American Horror Story: 1984” as she takes on the lead role in “Ratched”.

Deadline has learned that Paulson will put her primary focus on the Ryan Murphy Netflix series about Nurse Ratched in the origins story of “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”.

The streaming platform has already ordered two-seasons, 18-episodes each, of the series that co-stars Sharon Stone, Rosanna Arquette and Cynthia Nixon.

As if that isn’t enough to keep Paulson on her toes, she will remain with the cast of “AHS: 1984”, just with a smaller part. She has had a lead role since season two but could go back to a part similar to her role as medium Billie Dead Howard in three episodes of season one.

ET Canada has reached out to Paulson’s rep to confirm.
