19-year-old Phoebe Kochis won over the hearts of the judges and viewers on Monday’s “So You Think You Can Dance”.

The teenage dancer, who has Down syndrome, performed during the show’s auditions round, receiving cheers, a standing ovation and a golden ticket.

According to People, Kochis has been dancing for 16 years without ever giving up on her dream.

“I was really excited. It was so much fun,” Phoebe said of the audition.

She admitted she was worried going into it, though.

“I was thinking there’s no way that they will respect me,” Kochis said of the judges.

Speaking to KDVR in Colorado, the inspirational dancer’s mother Jeanie said, “It just warms your heart so much to see her realize a dream that so many never believed.”

While Kochis won’t be in competition this season, Nigel Lythgoe invited her to be his guest at the Academy.
