Jennifer Lopez is standing with Nat Werth.
Werth made headlines after it was revealed the Milwaukee high school valedictorian planned to come out during his commencement speech. The high school, however, rejected a draft of Werth’s speech.
The young man received an outpouring of support, including from Lopez. Last week, JLo reached out to Werth and met him backstage at her “It’s My Party” tour. On Friday, Lopez continued to support Werth online.
“Everyone deserves love. Nat, thank you for celebrating with me,” she tweeted alongside a news clip of their meeting.
Werth reflected on his once-in-a-lifetime meeting with the “Medicine” singer. It was “absolutely an amazing experience [I] will never forget,” he told the “Today” show.
“A lot of people have said they feel bad for me,” he told BuzzFeed. “But I’d rather have people feel happy that someone is finally standing up to the administration [and] speaking up for what’s right and trying to change Lutheran High School for the better.”
