Billy Crystal is one proud Los Angeles Clippers fan and he’s ecstatic that the team has signed star players Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
The comedian/actor chatted with The New York Times about the Clippers securing the “fun guy” who helped the Toronto Raptors win the 2019 NBA Championships with the and revealed his head is “spinning” with excitement.
Amid the great news for Clippers fans, Crystal sent a text message to Clippers Coach Doc Rivers saying he’s hoping for the best.
“All I wrote was, ‘Fingers crossed,’” Crystal said, adding that Rivers replied, “Mine, too.”
But the Clippers didn’t just sign the 2019 MVP, Leonard, they got George too.
“My head is spinning,” Crystal said. “I had a feeling it was going to be us, but this is pretty overwhelming that it’s going to be the two of them. It’s sort of beyond description for us.”
Crystal has been a longtime fan of the Clippers, since 1985, “the days of Benoit Benjamin getting drafted.”
