Taylor Swift spent the Fourth of July far, far away from the U.S.
The “ME!” singer enjoyed some time off with her girlfriends in the Caribbean during this year’s Independence Day. Her vacation comes after Scooter Braun bought Swift’s former label Big Machine and all of her related masters.
Swift was reportedly never given the opportunity to purchase the rights to her music under the label.
“Taylor loves a good sun vacation,” a source told People. “One of her favourite spots to visit is the Caribbean islands. She has been many times in the past, and her July 4th vacation was long-planned. It had nothing to do with her getting away from any drama.”
Swift’s trip to the Caribbean is a stark contrast from how she usually spends the Fourth of July. The 10-time Grammy-winner has become known for her massive Independence Day bashes at her Rhode Island home.
Last Wednesday, Swift appeared at Amazon Music’s Prime Day Concert in New York City. It marked her first public appearance following her publicized beef with Braun and former Big Machine head Scott Borchetta.
Swift is gearing up for the release of her seventh studio album Lover. The project is buoyed by lead singles “ME!” and “You Need to Calm Down”.
