Katee Sackhoff is best known for her breakout role as Kara “Starbuck” Thrace on “Battlestar Galactica”, and her latest role brings her back to the sci-fi genre.
On Tuesday, Netflix dropped its first trailer for “Another Life”, an intriguing new 10-episode series involving a space mission triggered by the arrival of a mysterious extraterrestrial object on Earth.
“When a mysterious alien artifact lands on Earth, Commander Niko Breckinridge (Katee Sackhoff) has to lead humanity’s first interstellar mission to its planet of origin, while her husband (Justin Chatwin) tries to make first contact with the artifact back on Earth,” reads the official synopsis. “‘Another Life’ explores the miracle of life, how precious life is in a universe mostly empty of it, and the lengths we will go to protect the ones we love.”
Also starring: Selma Blair (“Hellboy”) as Harper Glass, an influencer who goes to great lengths in order to break the story; Tyler Hoechlin (a.k.a. Superman on Showcase’s “Supergirl”) as Ian Yerxa, the commander who is usurped by Niko (and remains bitter about it); and Samuel Anderson (“Doctor Who”) as William, the holographic image representing the ship’s sentient artificial intelligence interface.
“Another Life” debuts on Thursday, July 25.
