Machine Gun Kelly has just unveiled the new music video for “Candy”, featuring rapper Trippie Redd, and the new track from MGK’s Hotel Diablo album features a special guest appearance from pal Pete Davidson.
The video kicks off with the “Saturday Night Live” star working behind the counter of a pharmacy when a pair of young boys nervously try to buy some cough medicine (labelled “Lit Juice” and purporting to offer “powerful relief”).
Davidson’s clerk eyes the boys up and down as one of them offers a weak fake cough.
“What’s wrong with you?” he asks the boys. “We need this for my mom,” the coughing boy replies.
“If your mom’s sick, why did you cough?” asks Davidson incredulously, met with stunned silence by the boys.
“What’s wrong with you, Goonies? Have you guys ever tried to buy drugs before? Both of you suck very much, okay? Why don’t you guys go outside and practice what you’re gonna say, and then come back and try again,” he continues, shooing them out of the store as the opening notes of the song kick in and Machine Gun Kelly takes over (although Davidson shows up later in the video, smoking what appears to be a joint while hanging out with the boys on the street).
Davidson and the rapper, whose real name is Colson Baker, are close pals in real life, with Davidson joking that they “became the bestest of friends” while filming Netflix’s Motley Crue biopic “The Dirt” (Baker plays drummer Tommy Lee, while Davidson portrays music-biz exec Tom Zutaut).
