The U.S. women’s soccer team won’t be visiting the White House after their big World Cup win but Jimmy Kimmel wanted to make sure they still got a taste of the presidential experience.
Star players Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan were on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday to talk about their victory over the weekend.
In light of the team’s refusal to visit the White House out of opposition to Donald Trump, Kimmel offered his own solution.
“I didn’t want to cheat you of the experience of visiting the White House,” he said, before raising a curtain to reveal a mock Oval Office with a tray of “5,000 chicken nuggets” guarded by “a couple of actors pretending to be Secret Service guys.”
Kimmel joked, “If you really are the champions that you know you are, the three of us will eat all of this before the night is done.”
Morgan and Rapinoe also talked about the fight for equal pay, with Kimmel agreeing they should be earning more than they currently make given their popularity.
“We’re taking you to mediation with us,” Rapinoe joked.
Morgan added, “We are working towards that but I also think our fans and everyone is speaking for us.”
