If we ignore this news, does it make it not true? Because no one is going to want to believe that “Big Little Lies” likely won’t be coming back for a third season.
The hit HBO show is currently in the second season, with the addition of Meryl Streep, but HBO president Casey Bloys is addressing if fans will see a third.
“I love this group of people – I would do anything with them,” Bloys told TVLine. “But the reality is, they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood. We have deals with some of them — Nicole [Kidman] is doing her next show [‘The Undoing’] with us. I just think it’s not realistic.”
“Look, if they all came to me and said, ‘We worked out all of our schedules!’ – then sure,” he added laughing. “But I just don’t think it’s realistic.”
Although one glimmer of hope is that season two will at least end with some closure. “Season 2 was a chance for everyone involved to end [the franchise] in a way that feels satisfying,” Bloys concluded.
Season two of “Big Little Lies” will wrap up on July 21.
