This week’s Judge Cuts Round on “America’s Got Talent” saw the return of 15-year-old singer-songwriter Sophie Pecora, and in her pre-taped segment prior to her performance she revealed she’s been very busy since her earlier audition — so busy, in fact, she has five new original songs to sing.
For this week’s performance, she tells the judges she’s decided to sing “the most personal” of them for this week’s performance.
The song proves to be a knockout, earning a standing ovation from the audience and earning high praise from the judges — especially guest judge Brad Paisley.
In fact, the country superstar — who has his very own Golden Buzzer to use in this round — was blown away by both the song and her performance of it.
“I think I would know you from that one song,” Paisley told her. “That’s incredible to stand up there with just a guitar. I mean, that takes incredible cojones.”
As he continued to discuss her song — which contains a powerful anti-bullying message — he concluded his words by saying, “I’m done,” slamming his palm down on the Golden Buzzer and showering her confetti before joining her onstage to give her a hug.
Viewers will get to hear a new original song from Pecora, now that the Golden Buzzer has confirmed she’ll be back for another round.
Meanwhile, check out the “AGT” audition that sent her through in the first place.
