Fans are getting a second look at Brad Pitt’s new space epic.

After the first trailer for “Ad Astra” showed off an action-packed adventure, the new trailer, shared by Vanity Fair, teases a more emotional journey.
In the film, Brad Pitt plays astronaut Roy McBride, who is sent on a dangerous mission into space to find his father, Clifford McBride, played by Tommy Lee Jones.

“There’s a very mythic quality that is attached to a movie star like that,” director James Gray told Vanity Fair of Brad Pitt. “It’s really more of an attempt by us to examine a schizoid personality and how that is preferred for astronauts in space travel because you don’t have to connect emotionally.”
The film also stars Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland.
“Ad Astra” hits theatres September 20.
