“Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” is about to be as meta as it gets.
Saban Films premiered the trailer for Kevin Smith’s long-awaited “Jay and Silent Bob” sequel at Comic-Con on Thursday. “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” follows the lead character Jay (Smith) and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes) as they try and stop Hollywood from remaking a movie based on their lives.

The movie marks the first major film centred on the characters since 2001’s “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back”. The characters first appeared in Smith’s 1994 breakout film “Clerks” and have since appeared in “Mallrats”, “Chasing Amy” and “Yoga Hosers”.
Meanwhile, production on “Jay and Silent Bob Reboot” took 21 days, the exact number of days it took Smith to shoot “Clerks”.
