“Game Of Thrones” might be over, but HBO has another fantasy series up their sleeves.
During Comic-Con, the network debuted the trailer for “His Dark Materials” starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, James McAvoy, Ruth Wilson and Dafne Keen.
As per IMDb, the show is about “two children [wo] embark on a magical adventure through parallel universes.”

The show also features the character’s “daemons” or souls in the shape of animals with children’s daemons being able to change. Main character Lyra Belacqua’s (Keen) daemon is a snow-white ermine voiced by Archie Barnes.
The series is based on the book series. The first novel in the series was called The Golden Compass in the United States and Northern Lights everywhere else in 1995. A movie adaptation starring Nicole Kidman was released in 2007.
The series followed up with two other books, The Subtle Knife (1997) and The Amber Spyglass (2000).

Director Tom Hooper had quite the day with the trailer releases of both his projects: “His Dark Materials” and “Cats”.
“His Dark Materials” comes to HBO this autumn.
