Tony, Emmy and Grammy Award-winner Audra McDonald is calling out a theatregoer for taking a picture of her nude scene.
McDonald, 49, currently stars as Frankie in “Frankie And Johnny In The Clair De Lune”, alongside Michael Shannon as Johnny.
The start of the play opens with a graphic scene with the main characters having sex.
“To whoever it was in the audience that took a flash photo during our nude scene today: Not cool. Not cool at all,” McDonald tweeted Sunday after the performance.
The actress has previously spoken about being nude on stage in an interview with The New York Times in June.
“Maybe strippers get real used to it, but for me, there’s nothing normal about that,” McDonald told the publication. “So there’s nowhere in my mind that I can drift off and let this just kind of happen because everything about it is demanding that you be present.”
While this is McDonald’s first nude scene on stage, she has had scenes in her birthday suit for the 2011 film “Rampart” with Woody Harrelson.
“It was literally like, ‘Hi, nice to meet you, I’m Woody,’ ‘Hi, nice to meet you, I’m Audra,’ and then we started shooting,” she recalled.
