Ariana Grande doesn’t want to see her fans get taken advantage of by predatory photographers.
On Monday, model and design student @Sunnnaya shared screenshots of a private conversation with photographer Marcus Hyde in which he offers to take nude photos for free but charges for clothed ones.

Furthermore, Hyde tells the model that he will also charge her for photos if she doesn’t send him nudes first because, “Gotta see if your [sic] worth it.”
After Sunnnaya shared the screencaps, the Instagram account Diet Prada shared the full conversation, and called on Grande and Kim Kardashian to “come get your boy and teach him some decency.”
Hyde has photographed both Grande and Kardashian in the past.
In an Instagram Story post, Grande responded to the controversy, never naming Hyde but warning her fans against doing photoshoots with photographers who make them feel uncomfortable.
“I have just read some shocking and really heartbreaking stories,” Grande wrote. “I hate that this is a conversation. But. Please do not shoot with photographers who make you uncomfortable or make you feel like you need to take off our clothing off if you don’t want to. If you want to, sick. But if you don’t, please don’t. If they tell you you have to pay more money if you’re clothed that’s f**ked and I’m sorry that has happened to you. I promise there are so many respectful, nice, talented photographers out there.
“I hate hearing about things like this. I am sorry that that was anybody’s experience and know that it doesn’t have to be.”
Grande concluded, “Look out for one another. Tag your friends on posts of other photographers who’s [sic] work you like and have had positive experiences with and help each other get connected.”
