While the point of Queen Elizabeth’s meeting with Boris Johnson on Wednesday was to officially invite him to become Britain’s new Prime Minister, it was the photos behind the two that caught everyone’s eyes.
Placed on the tables at Buckingham Palace were a collection of personal photos belonging to the Queen.
One picture appears to be of Prince William and Kate Middleton from their November 2010 engagement announcement. Kate is snuggled up to a young William with her hand placed on his chest to display the sapphire engagement ring that belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales.
The photo in front of that is of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The snap was never publicly released but according to People, it was taken in December 2017 by Alexi Lubomirski as part of their engagement photoshoot.
Fans caught a glimpse of the photo at Kensington Palace when Harry met with Nepalese Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. The Queen also first displayed the sweet picture shortly after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s May 2018 wedding at Buckingham Palace while she met with Honorable George Brandis, the Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
A third photo goes way back to an unbearded Harry standing with William in their military uniforms.
