Jack Ryan is back!

During Amazon Prime Video’s presentation at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, currently underway in Los Angeles, the streaming service unveiled a new teaser for the upcoming second season of “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” with John Krasinski reprising the role of the iconic CIA analyst.

“After tracking a potentially suspicious shipment of illegal arms in the Venezuelan jungle, CIA Officer Jack Ryan heads down to South America to investigate,” reads the official synopsis for the upcoming season.

“As Jack’s investigation threatens to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy, the President of Venezuela launches a counter-attack that hits home for Jack, leading him and his fellow operatives on a global mission spanning the United States, U.K., Russia, and Venezuela to unravel the President’s nefarious plot and bring stability to a country on the brink of chaos,” the synopsis continues.

In an interview with Variety, Krasinski discussed the enduring appeal of the character, who has been portrayed onscreen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Chris Pine and Ben Affleck.

“There’s something about Jack Ryan that I think is such a great hero for right now. He doesn’t have a cape, he doesn’t have stuff flying out of his hands, he’s just a guy with his brain and his instincts,” he said. “Less sex! But he’s our James Bond.”
