Shailene Woodley Returns To Standing Rock For Reveal Of North Dakota’s Largest Solar Farm

During the Dakota Access Pipeline controversy, the Standing Rock Sioux tribe was supported by Shailene Woodley.

The actress is now back to support the tribe as they unveiled the largest solar farm in North Dakota.

“Back on the res and feeling home again. A lot of people often wonder what ever happened to #standingrock after the media buzz and trending hashtags disappeared. My brothers @chiefeye @c2bears and many others joined together to create INDIGENIZED ENERGY,” the “Big Little Lies” actress wrote in an Instagram caption.

She added, “They’ve created the LARGEST solar farm in North Dakota … they are making historical moves, and it’s breathtaking to witness. Can you think of anything better ?!?! Fossil fuels were the reason tens of thousands of people came to standing rock in 2016… and now, they’re leading the way with SUSTAINABLE AND RENEWABLE energy sources. talk about changing a narrative and switching a paradigm.”

The activist also took a moment to draw attention to Mauna Kea, Hawaii where a similar movement to Standing Rock is happening. “Native Hawaiians are standing up for the protection of their sacred mountain. I haven’t been there yet, so I asked @ladonnabrave1 to speak about it,” Woodley wrote alongside a video.
