British singer Anne-Marie had some bad news to share with fans in South Korea, where she was to have performed at the Holiday Land Festival in Paradise City on Sunday.
“Hello everyone,” says the British singer, also known by her full name, Anne-Marie Nicholson, in a video she posted on Twitter.
“I don’t really know what’s going on, but I’ve been told that the stage I was performing on was structurally unsafe so I’m not going to be able to go on,” she continues.

“I’ve been waiting for confirmation this whole time. I know that one stage has already been shut down, but yeah, I’m not allowed to go on,” the frustrated singer tells fans.
“I’m so annoyed. I’m just gonna cry in my room the whole night. But I will be back to see my Korean fans, I love you so much,” she adds. “I’m so sorry about today, but it wasn’t up to me. And if it was up to me, I’d still be down there performing, but I’ve been told not to do it.”
In a series of subsequent tweets, she makes it clear that she didn’t cancel the show, and expresses her disappointment that she won’t be performing.
However, it didn’t take long for Anne-Marie to devise a clever alternative for fans, announcing she’d be performing in the lounge of a local hotel.
“BE THERE,” she said in an all-caps tweet. “I AM PUTTING ON A SHOW!!!!!”
She answered a fan question to clarify that no tickets are needed to attend, and shared some more details in another video.
