“Deadpool” fans were disappointed to learn Ryan Reynolds’ character would not be included in Marvel Studios’ Phase Four plans, but the “Merc With a Mouth” might hop into the universe eventually.
Reynolds hinted at Deadpool’s appearance in Phase Five using an investigation board. “Investigation heading into year 5,” Reynolds captioned his Instagram post on Sunday. “Or as I call it, ‘Phase 5.’ The point is, I love conspiracy-yarn.”
The Vancouver-born actor celebrated the five year anniversary of “Deadpool” with a peg-board titled “Who Leaked?” Pieces of red yarn connected the titular character to Hugh Jackman, Betty White, Blake Lively and more.
Reynolds post comes after Marvel Studios announced Phase Four of their shared movie-and-television universe at San Diego Comic-Con. The announcement included Disney+ streaming shows like “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier” and “Hawkeye”, and movies like “Black Widow” and “Thor: Love And Thunder“.
“Deadpool” was notably absent from Marvel Studios’ two-year plan, but Deadpool comic book co-creator Rob Liefeld confirmed a third “Deadpool” film will happen eventually.
