Tuesday’s “This Morning” was as bizarre as ever.
After four failed engagements, Elizabeth Hoad, 49, decided to marry her loyal Golden Retriever, Logan.
Alison Hammond read out, after former “X Factor” contestant Andy Abraham sang “Puppy Love”: “I stand here today to join together Elizabeth Mary Francis Hoad and Logan Humphrey the second, the Golden Retriever.”
She added, struggling to contain her laughter: “If any persons here present has a bone of contention as to why they may not be joined together I will now pause to let them speak, bark, or forever hold their peace.”
Speaking about why she’d decided to tie the knot with her pup, Hoad said: “The reason why I feel it’s so important is not only because I’ve been unlucky in love by [going on] 221 dates, but it’s a year ago today [since] I rescued him.
“For the first four years he was locked up in a utility cupboard, chained up, beaten, starved, when he came out he was re-homed very badly with dysfunctional families and it was like we were meant to meet because I’d just lost my other Golden Retriever.”
Unsurprisingly, the whole thing got quite the reaction online.
