O-Town Turned Down Offer To Appear In ‘Zoolander’ — And Still Regret It

O-Town had the opportunity to play a crucial role in one of the most successful comedies of the 2000s — but decided to take a pass.

While chatting with People magazine’s “People Now” online talk show, group members Trevor Penick, Jacob Underwood and Erik-Michael Estrada were playing a game of “Kiss, Marry, Kill” when they revealed that an offer came in to appear in “Zoolander”, but they ultimately decided not to do it.

However, it was a decision the boy band came to regret when the Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson fashion comedy wound up becoming a huge hit.

“One of the biggest mistakes we ever made as a band is getting asked to do ‘Zoolander’ and saying no,” said Underwood, explaining it was the band’s breakneck schedule at the time that led to the decision.

“We were so busy,” he continued. “See, we had like a couple days off and that was it for the year.”

“I ran into Ben Stiller at a coffee party in New York,” added Estrada. “And I walked right up to him… he was like, ‘Hey, we were supposed to work together.’ I was like, ‘I know!'”
