The Duchess of Sussex is planning on writing a children’s book.

According to The Sun, Meghan Markle will become a published author with the new book. A topic has yet to be decided, but reports suggest her love of animals and her dogs are a popular choice.

Profits of the book would likely go towards charity.

The Duchess can get advice from her father-in-law, Prince Charles, who wrote the 1980 children’s book The Old Man Of Lochnagar. Sarah Ferguson also penned a series of books about Budgie the Helicopter.

A royal source said, “Meghan is going to become a published author and is very excited about it. The plans are in the very early stages and won’t be formally announced for some time.”

They added, “But she’s very excited about the possibility and is passionate about the idea of a work of fiction for children. She loves animals and her rescue dogs so it’s very likely they will be incorporated into the story.”

“Any book will absolutely not be some sort of tell-all about her life in the royal family.”

ET Canada has reached out to the palace for comment but have not heard back yet.

Publishing seems to fit Meghan well as she first helped out with Together: Our Community Cookbook in support of the Grenfell victims. The Duchess then was guest editor for the Septemeber issue of British Vogue.

Before her time with the royals, Meghan also ran the popular blog The Tig.

Meghan and Prince Harry have two dogs that live with them in Frogmore Cottage, a beagle named Guy who came with the Duchess from Toronto and a mystery dog reported to be a lab, but the couple still haven’t announced the name.

Perhaps this children’s book will be the perfect opportunity.
