With the 2019 edition of Lollapalooza underway in Chicago, fans at the music festival have been enjoying some unexpected onstage surprises.
During Death Cab for Cutie’s performance on Friday, the band welcomed special guest Chance the Rapper, who reunited with the band’s frontman, Ben Gibbard, for their collaboration “Do You Remember”.
“This is our first time ever performing this song,” Chance told the crowd of the recently released track, “and I think this might be a moment in history.”
Chance, however, wasn’t the only surprise guest to hit the Lollapalooza stage. Ahead of his headlining performance on Friday night, Childish Gambino (a.k.a. “The Lion King” star Donald Glover) joined 21 Savage during his set.
With no introduction, Glover joined the rapper for their collab “Monster”, which appeared on 21 Savage’s 2018 album, I Am > I Was; for reasons not yet known, Glover sported a neck brace and a sling throughout the performance. Watch:
