Kevin Bacon may love sweet potatoes, but the TSA clearly does not.

Bacon, 61, was on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” this week and recounted his recent run-in with the Transportation Security Administration over a snack he added to his suitcase at the last minute.

“I was on my way to L.A., and I knew I was going to be arriving in five hours, and I knew that in about seven-and-a-half hours I was going to be hungry,” Bacon explained to Fallon. “So I saw a nice sweet potato sitting there ready to go, and I just threw it in my suitcase. And, of course, TSA flagged it.”

The “City On A Hill” actor also said that as soon as the TSA noticed something amiss while x-raying his bag, he told a TSA employee, “I think it’s my sweet potato.”

Bacon has no gripes with TSA, however, telling Fallon, “I love the TSA. I think they do a great job. They got a job where everybody is pissed off or nervous or whatever…it’s such a tough gig.”

Bacon originally revealed his run-in with TSA in a July 5 Instagram post. “Thanks to the hard working folks at #TSA for keeping us safe,” the star wrote. “If I saw this on the X-ray I would have searched my bag as well.”

And while there was some debate between Bacon and Fallon as to whether the root vegetable in question was a sweet potato or a yam, Fallon’s audience sided with Bacon’s description of the snack as a sweet potato.
