“James Bond 25” is shaping up to be an impressive film with the likes of Daniel Craig, Lashana Lynch, Rami Malek and more staring in the hit. But now the film is reportedly getting a royal touch.
The Sun reports that Prince Charles was offered a cameo when he visited the London set in June.
Queen Elizabeth first teamed up with 007 for the London Olympics Opening ceremony skit where Her Majesty and Bond parachuted into the arena from a helicopter.
A source told the publication, “They loved the buzz around the Queen’s appearance alongside Daniel Craig and think Charles could top even that. He is the epitome of everything British, perfect for a cameo role and Bond fans worldwide would absolutely love it.”
They added, “When he visited the film set a few weeks ago it was discussed. Now he is considering it. It is no secret that the film has suffered a number of setbacks but landing a Royal could be just what the movie needs.”
Accidents have “cursed” the film, including Craig breaking his ankle and a crew member sustaining an injury.
At the time of Charles’ visit, producer Barbara Broccoli told People, “He had a lot to talk about with Daniel. They both have a love for Aston Martin. Boys with toys!”
Clarence House would not comment on if Prince Charles was considering a role. ET Canada has also reached out to “Bond” producers.
“Bond 25” hits theatres on April 3, 2020.
