Shep Rose is taking some responsibility for mocking a woman collecting cans.

The “Southern Charm” star was met with backlash on Monday after posting a video in which he teased the woman in question. At the time, Rose refused to apologize for his conduct.

On Tuesday, however, Rose took some responsibility for his behaviour. “I know some people were upset about the video from Sunday night,” the Bravo star tweeted. “It was a stupid joke and [a] bad idea all around.”

“Also a bit out of context. I spent a few minutes with her talking and telling jokes,” Rose continued. “She laughed a little. But Yeah, wasn’t cool or funny. Mea culpa.” For those unfamiliar with the term, “Mea culpa” is an acknowledgment of one’s fault or error.

The video was initially published to Rose’s Instagram Story and saw him berating the woman. She sat on a step stool on the sidewalk and made it clear she did not want to be on camera. “Look at me, nice cans! I mean, the cans you have!” he mocked in the now-deleted clip. The woman covered her face and shouted, “No! No!”

Prior to his apology, Rose accused outraged fans of being too sensitive. “Omg. I offended you!” he tweeted one critic. “Ok. Here’s the plan, sensitivity training five times a week.”
