Donald Glover is the only one who will decide if “Atlanta” continues to film in its namesake city.
The first two seasons of “Atlanta” were filmed in the state of Georgia’s capital, but new anti-abortion laws could see that change. FX CEO John Landgraf said the decision rests solely on Glover’s shoulders.
“That would be Donald’s call. He hasn’t opined on that yet,” FX chief told The Wrap. “The artist makes the decision on that. We’ll support Donald in whatever he decides.”
Back in May, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill aiming to outlaw abortion in Georgia after the detection of a fetal heartbeat. Since then, Disney, NBCUniversal, AMC Networks, WarnerMedia and Netflix have all reconsidered filming in the state.
“Atlanta” was renewed for seasons three and four on Tuesday.
