“At some point last night while I slept by baby Bug fell from an open window and passed away,” he wrote captioning a selfie with little Bug. “I’m hurting so bad today I can’t put it into words, for anyone else experiencing grief and loss, I’m with you.”

After telling fans he wouldn’t be his “happy” self in the coming days during “Queer Eye”‘s third season’s promo, Van Ness turned his tragedy into something good.

“Not sure how I’m going to make this loss mean something more but in the meantime, please make a donation to an animal shelter near you,” he continued in the caption.

Just days after losing Bug The 2nd, Van Ness is a cat dad to two more kittens.

In an Instagram post, Van Ness showed off his new kittens, Genevieve and Matilda, joining his other cats Harry Larry and Liza.

All of the hairstylist’s cats were adopted from the Pennsylvania SPCA Fishtown Centre.

Van Ness adopted Bug the 2nd in September, one month after the death of his beloved cat Bug.
