John Legend Puts On Private Concert For The Survivors Of The Dayton Shooting

A week after the tragic Dayton, Ohio shootings, John Legend is giving back to the community.

On Sunday, the artist performed a private concert for the survivors.

“I just played a few songs to try to help bring comfort to some of the survivors of last week’s tragedy in Dayton. My heart breaks for everyone who lost someone. I love how everyone rallies around one another during their time of grief. But our nation should not keep putting ourselves through these preventable traumas. Let’s fix it together,” he wrote on Instagram.

He also spent time in the community meeting business owners.

Legend was one of the stars who called out about gun control and white nationalism after the two mass shootings last weekend.

“Our nation is experiencing these traumas far too often and we need our leaders to take urgent action: take these weapons of war off the street and fight the evil ideology of white nationalism that motivates many of these terrorists,” one tweet read.

Another tweet slammed Donald Trump, “When we condemn the racist venom coming from the President’s mouth and point out the bigotry of his policies, it’s not an academic question, it’s not a political game, it’s about life and death. The President regularly inspires killers. He is a part of the problem.”
