Eddie Murphy Plays A Blaxploitation Star In ‘Dolemite Is My Name’ Trailer

Eddie Murphy is going back to the ’70s for a true life comedy biopic.

In “Dolemite Is My Name”, Murphy plays Rudy Ray Moore, the comedian and singer who went on to produce and star in the classic Blaxploitation film “Dolemite”.

In the first trailer for the film, Rudy comes up with the idea to star in the film, and then sets about filming, and learning some kung fu moves along the way.

Directed by Craig Brewer, Murphy is joined in the film by Chris Rock, Mike Epps, Craig Robinson, Keegan-Michael Key, Luenell, Wesley Snipes, Tituss Burgess and Da’Vince Joy Randolph.

“Dolemite Is My Name” will have its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September before debuting in theatres and on Netflix later this fall.
