Charlamagne Tha God has no ill will towards Nicki Minaj.
“The Breakfast Club” host refuted Minaj’s claims that he led a “hate train” against her. “I’ve gotten on this radio and said a million times that this whole new wave of female rap is because of Nicki Minaj,” Charlamagne insisted.
“Nicki, we love you,” he continued. “And I’mma tell you something, them damn Barbz… The Barbz will never relay the positive energy we be sending Nicki Minaj… So I challenge the Barbz to hit Nicki and say ‘Charlamagne and Envy love you.'”
Charlamagne argued his perceived hatred of Minaj is a consequence of his efforts to be an objective journalist. He said their relationship fractured once he gave critical feedback of her hit “Anaconda” song: “It went south when I said ‘Anaconda’ was wack.”
Minaj made the remarks about Charlamagne and “The Breakfast Club” co-host DJ Envy while speaking with Joe Budden on Queen Radio.
