In an interview on Thursday with “Good Morning America”, the actor’s mother and father, Libby and Victor Boyce, opened up about their loss.
Victor told host Robin Roberts that they had been with their son just hours before he died, and that “there was no indication that anything was wrong.”
“He didn’t want his epilepsy to define him,” Libby added.
She also said, “Obviously if I ever thought he could die from a seizure I would have never let him out of my sight.”
The two also spoke about continuing Cameron’s legacy through his foundation, which supports causes he was passionate about, including epilepsy awareness, clean water, ending gun violence, and more.
