After announcing at the Teen Choice Awards that her single “Lover” would be released a week before the album by the same name, Taylor Swift fans finally got what they were waiting for.
The day before the big release, Swift also revealed that she will be going live on YouTube on Aug 22, right before Lover is released.
During the live session, the singer will talk about the album, take part in a Q&A, discuss her upcoming fashion collaboration with Stella McCartney, debut a new song, as well as premiere the music video for “Lover”.
Fans and musicians all loved the track, with Keith Urban even taking to his Twitter to praise Swift.
“Huge shoutout today to @taylorswift13 on the SUPERB new single LOVER,” Urban tweeted. “When a song so exquisitely written becomes a record so gorgeously crafted I feel such a deep sense of gratitude for the ‘art’ of making music.”
“Are you kidding me this is the nicest thing anyone has ever said- you’re just the best and so kind to say this,” Swift responded.
Long before the Jack Antonoff-produced track even dropped, Swifties had the hashtag #LoverAtMidnight trending as they couldn’t contain their excitement.
