Nicole Scherzinger recently visited the base of Mauna Kea, the state’s highest peak, to show support for the ongoing protests.
According to KITV Honolulu, the Holokai Hale native told the protesters, “Admire isn’t even the word — to know that they would stay there forever — that they would die for our Aina.”
“Being kanaka maoli I had a kuleana to show up,” Scherzinger added. “The power and the strength I felt from the Kupuna is unexplainable. The Kupuna are willing to die for this. Our Kupuna is like our Hawaiian angel warrior guardians.”
