Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have added to their team.
People reports that Fiona Mcilwham, who according to her Twitter account is a self-proclaimed “diplomat and wannabe supermum,” has been chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has their new chief of staff.
Mcilwham will join communications secretary Sara Latham and deputy private secretary Heather Wong, making up the women-led trio behind the royal couple.
She will be replacing Samantha Cohen, who had temporarily been covering the role while helping find a full-time and permanent replacement. Cohen, who had previously been assistant private secretary to Queen Elizabeth II, has been on Harry and Markle’s team since just after their wedding in 2018.
Ahead of her new position, Mcilwham was posted to Albania in 2009, becoming one of the UK’s youngest ambassadors.
According to The Daily Mail, who first reported the news, Mcilwham’s first major roles will be to join the couple on their upcoming tour of South Africa and Harry’s visits to Angola, Botswana and Malawi.
