Bruce Springsteen Releases First Trailer For ‘Western Stars’ Companion Film

Bruce Springsteen has given fans a first look at his concert film “Western Stars”.

Earlier this year, the 69-year-old singer announced the companion movie for his 19th studio album Western Stars, which features live performances from the entire record in an old western barn.

The film, which he co-directed with Thom Zimny, explores Springsteen’s early life and career with archival footage and his own dramatic narration to tell the story.

“I’ve spent 35 years trying to learn how to let go of the destructive parts of my character,” says Springsteen in the trailer. “And I still have days when I struggle with it.”

Springsteen’s last on-screen role was in his Netflix special, “Springsteen on Broadway”, released last year.

The movie “Western Stars” is set to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, with a theatrical release to follow in October.
