Bryant, 47, was accused of stealing McDormand’s Academy Award trophy at the 2018 Governors Ball. He was caught on camera doing so, but investigators have dropped the charges.

A key reason Bryant is getting off is that McDormand was reportedly “not willing to cooperate with investigators,” according to TMZ.

“The District Attorney’s Office today told the court that we are unable to proceed at this time,” the D.A. said in a statement. “The defence moved to dismiss the case, and Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Sam Ohta dismissed it.”
