Robert Finley has proven to be one of the top competitors in the current season of “America’s Got Talent”, and he returned with another original song for his live performance during the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
“I guess it took going blind at the age of 65 for me to really see,” the 65-year-old blues singer declared in his pre-taped interview before revealing that he wrote the song — titled “Starting to See” — about his “AGT” experience.
During his performance, the Vietnam veteran was backed up by a trio of singers — one of whom is his daughter — with a intense performance that blew the roof off the theatre and left the audience stunned and standing as they applauded.
While Howie Mandel questioned whether that particular son was the right choice, fellow judges Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union didn’t agree — and Simon Cowell was with them, declaring Finley’s performance to be “bloody fantastic.”
We’ll find out if Finley — whose 2017 album Goin’ Platinum! was produced by Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach — makes it to the next round when “AGT” reveals the results on Wednesday.
Until then, check out his first performance on the “AGT” stage:
