It looks like 2019 is officially the year of Missy Elliott’s comeback.
Not only is the rapper being honoured with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, but she’s also about to drop her first collection of songs in 14 years.
The brand new collection is titled Iconology.
“At midnight tonight I’m dropping a collection of new songs,” she announced on Twitter. “Let’s #ThrowItBack to a time when music just felt good and made us want to dance! Sincerely, Dr. Melissa “Missy” Elliott #ICONOLOGY.”
While Elliott has appeared on songs with Katy Perry and Lizzo, and dropped a single in 2017, Iconology is the first solo collection release in over a decade. Elliott has not released an EP or album since The Cookbook in 2005.
Iconology is now available on all streaming platforms.
