Ben Affleck is on the way to a much better lifestyle after completing a 40-day stay at a treatment centre for alcoholism last year.
A source who spoke to People said that Affleck, 47, is “in a great place both in his recovery and life. He continues to want to be the best father and friend he can be.”
Affleck shares three children, Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 7, with ex-wife Jennifer Garner; the pair work together to raise their kids.
“He and Jen do amazingly well at co-parenting the children. They have shared a great summer with the kids doing outings, travels, etc. They have a very trusting and special relationship,” the insider added. “Ben’s relationship with Jen is strong. She’s really supportive of Ben, and they work very closely on parenting their kids.”
Garner was spotted last August driving the “Gone Girl” actor to rehab for the third time but has now found “a number of treatment and wellness methods” that work well for him.
Last October, Affleck publicly revealed that he completed the stay for alcohol addiction.
“Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle,” he wrote. “Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.”
